The 1098-T tax form is your record of tuition and fee payments received by the UW Colleges for the calendar year. In the summer of 2019, the UW Colleges closed. For tax purposes, the 2019 Calendar Year included the following three terms – Winterim 2019, Spring 2019, and Summer 2019.
Prior UW Colleges Tax Documents
With the closing of the UW Colleges in the summer of 2019, your 1098-T Form for that year was mailed to your home address in January 2020.
- If you did not receive your 1098-T from 2019, you may contact the UWC Historical Records Office at UWCBursar@uwex.wisconsin.edu.
- Include your full name, month/day of birth (or last four of your SSN), and your current mailing address.
Tax Information
The dollar amounts reported on your Form 1098-T may assist you in completing IRS Form 8863 Education Credits. The IRS Form 8863 is used for calculating the educational tax credits that a taxpayer may claim as part of their tax return.
Depending on your income (or your family’s income if you’re a dependent) and the amount of your qualified educational expenses for the year, you may be eligible for a federal educational tax credit.
