As the 2021 flu season approached, the UW System coordinated 33 flu vaccine clinics and administered over 1,800 flu vaccines for employees and their spouses. Compared to the previous year, this is an increase in the number of clinics but a decrease in the number of flu vaccines. UW-Madison also coordinated several clinics for their employees and their spouses (not included in the numbers previously mentioned).
With the challenges the pandemic continues to provide, this was a crucial step to proactively help employees stay healthy over the next several months. The UW System thanks those that helped coordinate the clinics and the employees that received their flu vaccine at these clinics. Overall, the clinics were a success and we hope you’ll consider taking part in upcoming years!
Reminder: In case you missed the clinics at your institution, consider getting your flu vaccine from your in-network doctor’s office or pharmacy (call ahead to check availability and find out if an appointment is necessary).
