If you are a University Staff-Temporary employee covered by the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) and you accept a successive job in a University Staff (non-Temporary), Faculty, Academic Staff or Limited appointment under the WRS, you may be eligible to enroll in some benefits. Review the Forms & Resources web page for all plan applications, forms, and brochures.
If you now qualify for the full employer contribution towards your health insurance premium in your new position, you are granted a new 30 day enrollment opportunity for:
- State Group Health Insurance
- Uniform, Preventive and Supplemental Dental Insurance
- Vision Insurance
- Accident Insurance
If you are a University Staff-Temporary employee currently eligible for the full employer contribution towards your health insurance premium, you do not receive a new enrollment opportunity in the above plans if you move to a University Staff (non-Temporary) or Faculty, Academic Staff or Limited appointment.
Any University Staff-Temporary employee who moves to a non-Temporary position covered by the WRS is newly eligible for the below. There is a 30 day enrollment opportunity to enroll.
- Flexible Spending Account for Health Care and Dependent Day Care
- Health Savings Account: required if you enroll in a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP)
Beneficiary Designations
Remember to review and update your beneficiary designations when you have a life event to make sure that your benefits are paid according to your wishes. Benefit plans that have beneficiary designations include life insurance plans, retirement plans and the health savings account.
