Today, the UW System Office of Educational Opportunity (OEO) launches Request for Proposals (RFP) for a recovery high school, as well as charter schools in Madison or Milwaukee. The Recovery School RFP seeks applicants for a pilot substance abuse recovery high school students located anywhere in Wisconsin.
“The students who choose to attend the school are on the challenging road of recovery. This high school will empower them to continue their education in a community of sobriety,” says UW System President Ray Cross. “The UW System has been actively working with the legislature and recovery stakeholders to demonstrate our shared commitment as a partner in the Hope Agenda.”
In addition, the UW System released a Charter School RFP, which seeks applications for serving the needs of students, families and educators in Madison or Milwaukee. Applicants must provide access to new educational innovations, incubate existing educational practices in new ways, and/or increase educational equity.
More information about both RFPs is available online on the UW System’s Office of Educational Opportunity webpage.
