MADISON – University of Wisconsin System President Ray Cross today announced the names of the five finalists for the position of Vice President for University Relations for the UW System.
Reporting to the president of the UW System, this new position will supervise a team that is broadly responsible for external and internal communications, state government relations, and federal relations.
The finalists and their titles are as follows:

Former Vice President for Government Affairs, Associate Vice President for Policy Development, and Corporate Liaison

- Georgia E. Maxwell
Assistant Deputy Secretary
Department of Financial Institutions, Madison, Wis.
- James C. Villa
President and Chief Executive Officer
Commercial Association of REALTORS®, Milwaukee, Wis.
- Matthew Williams
Government Relations Leader
GE Corporate/GE Healthcare, Wauwatosa, Wis.
The finalists, who were identified through a national search process, will be interviewed in Madison March 20. The 13-member search-and-screen committee was co-chaired by UW-Oshkosh Chancellor Richard Wells and John Yingling, owner, Paladan Group, LLC.
