UW System President Ray Cross is hitting the road in the weeks ahead, engaging students, staff and faculty at 11 UW institutions around Wisconsin in conversations about the state budget process and the UW System’s future.
The series of campus conversations will stretch into early April.
“At each of these meetings, the first order of business has been to welcome questions from students, staff and faculty,” Cross said.
“We are also using these opportunities to update our campus communities about the budget process, our efforts to work with the legislature to reduce the proposed cut and secure new flexibilities for the UW System, and our progress on the business and operational reforms we set in motion last year to help transform the UW System for the future,” he said.
The campus visits began on March 17 as President Cross joined UW-Oshkosh Academic and University Staff leaders, Faculty Senate members and the Oshkosh Student Association.
Over the next two weeks, President Cross will meet with students, faculty and staff at:
- UW-Fond du Lac on Friday, March 20.
- UW-Madison on Monday, March 23.
- UW-Green Bay on Tuesday, March 24.
- UW-Milwaukee and UW-Parkside on March 25.
- UW-River Falls on March 31.
- UW-Eau Claire on April 1.
- UW-Stout on April 2.
While at UW-Stout, President Cross will also participate in the inauguration of Chancellor Robert Meyer.
President Cross also will join in the April 10 inauguration of UW Colleges and UW-Extension Chancellor Cathy Sandeen, which follows the two-day Board of Regents meeting April 9 and April 10 at UW-Waukesha.
