Wisconsin Institute of Plastic Surgery & Dermatology Breaks Ground on Innovative New Facility

The Wisconsin Institute of Plastic Surgery & Dermatology (WIPS) celebrated the groundbreaking of its new state-of-the-art facility today, marking a transformative moment for healthcare in the Fox Cities. Held at4100 N Lightning Drive, this event highlights a commitment to elevating medical care, supporting community growth, and fostering a collaborative spirit.

Dr. Tina Sauerhammer, the visionary behind WIPS, shared her enthusiasm for the new project, stating, “Having worked in a variety of medical practices, from academic to private, I saw a need in this area for patients to receive more personalized, innovative, higher quality care. I wanted to create a practice that gave patients an elevated experience, unlike anything this area has seen before.”

Dr. Sauerhammer was particularly proud to announce that the new facility, including the Wisconsin Institute of Ambulatory Surgery, offers state-of-the-art medical services to the community. Additionally, Dr. Sauerhammer has carefully selected each member of her team, knowing that patients choose her practice for the exceptional people who provide outstanding care. As she puts it, “This beautiful building is simply a reflection of the incredible people in it.”

The groundbreaking ceremony featured remarks from distinguished guests, including UW-Green Bay Chancellor Mike Alexander. Chancellor Alexander praised Dr. Sauerhammer’s contributions, stating, “UW-Green Bay is exceptionally proud to have Dr. Tina Sauerhammer Dean as an alumna of our institution. The new surgery center in Appleton is a great symbol of her dedication to her field and her community.”

Becky Bartoszek, who leads the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce as President and CEO, shared her enthusiasm for the project, saying, “We are excited to celebrate with the Wisconsin Institute of Plastic Surgery & Dermatology as they grow and expand in the Fox Cities. Healthcare plays a vital role in our economy, and their new surgery center will be an integral part of the community. Here at the Chamber, we are always looking for ways to attract more talent to the area, and expanding our local healthcare is a great way to do that.”

Consolidated Construction Company was selected as the building partner for this project alongside Somerville Architects and Engineers as the design partner. The building will span 8,700 square feet and will feature a cutting-edge plastic surgery clinic in addition to a surgery center with an operating room. “The partnership between Wisconsin Instituteof Plastic Surgery, Somerville, and our project team at Consolidated was, in the truest sense of the word, collaborative and the reason we are all gathered here today,” commented Paul LaPree, Director of Business Development at Consolidated Construction on the collaborative effort from project partner.

The new facility represents a significant advancement in local healthcare, designed to provide innovative and high-quality care tothe community. The ceremony was attended by community leaders and supporters who have played a key role in bringing this vision to fruition. The Wisconsin Institute of Plastic Surgery & Dermatology is set to open in Spring 2025, promising to elevate the standard of medical services in the region.
