Dale Splinter, professor of geology, geography and environmental science at UW-Whitewater, works with his students to test tributaries suspected of bringing high levels of phosphorus and other pollutants into Geneva Lake in southeastern Wisconsin. Splinter’s undergraduate research project tested 16 streams around the lake from May to October in 2021. Along the way, his students gained valuable hands-on experience collecting and analyzing data.
