UW-Whitewater media arts and game development students won first place in an international competition held in Pisa, Italy. Under the mentorship of Nick Hwang, assistant professor of communication, students Luke Lamberg, Nicole Nelson, and Brandon Hanabarger created a hand therapy musical game in which physical therapy patients or persons with limited hand mobility do hand exercises to increase their range of motion and dexterity. They were the only team from the United States, and the only team of undergraduate students, competing against teams composed of doctoral students.
